Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule published 6 weeks out (float pool coverage across ICU, MedSurg Tele, PCU and ED holding); includes every-other-weekend and standby call when needed
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing across ICU, stepdown (PCU), MedSurg Tele and ED holding units
- Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias
- Titrate and manage drips safely (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin)
- Perform thorough clinical assessments and intervene promptly for patient deterioration
- Document care accurately in Cerner and communicate clear handoffs to the team
- Collaborate with physicians, RTs, monitor techs and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care
- Care for post-procedural cardiac patients including post-cath lab and CABG recovery
- Serve flexibly as a float nurse and be ready to step in where patient needs are greatest
Qualifications
- Active RN license (must be eligible to work in Arizona)
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ICU setting
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Proven ability to interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
- Comfortable titrating drips and managing common critical care infusions
- Must pass the dysrhythmia exam with 80% within two attempts prior to contract start
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- IV drip titration and vasoactive medication management
- Telemetry and stepdown patient care
- Experience with Cerner electronic charting
- Familiarity with CPAP/BiPAP and heated high flow oxygen therapies
- Post-op CABG and post-cardiac cath patient care
- Strong assessment, prioritization and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication, teamwork and patient/family education abilities
