Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts, 06:30 AM - 06:30 PM and 06:30 PM - 06:30 AM; rotating schedule with every-other-weekend requirement and minimum 2 holiday shifts during the contract; guaranteed 36 hours per week

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing for adult ICU patients with complex diagnoses
- Assess, monitor and document patient status including telemetry strips and hemodynamic trends
- Troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment and escalate to RT as needed
- Titrate drips safely and precisely per unit protocols for cardiac drips, insulin and sedation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for trauma, cardiac, stroke and sepsis patients
- Perform timely patient assessments, implement interventions and update care plans
- Support patient and family education and provide compassionate communication during high-stress situations
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in the state of Nebraska
- Minimum 2 years of ICU or critical care nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
- Comfortable titrating drips and interpreting cardiac monitoring/telemetry
- Experience with EPIC charting preferred
- Valid driver’s license required at submittal
- Ability to pass unit orientation assessment (open-book exam with 90% pass requirement)
Education
- Active RN license (Registered Nurse) - state-required licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care nursing and patient assessment expertise
- Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills (GE monitors experience a plus)
- Ventilator troubleshooting and familiarity with respiratory support devices
- Drip titration and infusion management
- Trauma, stroke and sepsis management experience
- Ability to work in fast-paced acute care settings and float to PCU/MedSurg as needed
