Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM; every other weekend required; minimum 2 holidays during the contract (night shift coverage)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care for adult ICU patients, managing complex diagnoses like trauma, cardiac events, sepsis and respiratory distress
- Titrate and manage drips safely (cardiac drips, insulin, sedation) according to unit protocols
- Continuously monitor, interpret, and document telemetry strips and vital trends using GE monitoring systems
- Troubleshoot respiratory equipment and collaborate with RT for ventilator management when needed
- Document timely and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care and clear communication
- Respond rapidly to emergent situations and participate in bedside procedures and post-procedure care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — physicians, RTs, techs and support staff — to deliver patient-centered care
- Mentor and work alongside nurse aides and support techs to ensure safe patient assignments and 1:1 support when required
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for submission
- Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care nursing experience
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Proven experience with EPIC charting and telemetry monitoring
- Valid driver’s license at time of submission (used to confirm radius eligibility)
- Willingness to complete orientation requirements, including a pass/fail skills exam (90% required)
- Able to comply with facility policies (artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas)
- Candidates must not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI or Dignity)
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- BSN not required (per posting: not listed as required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
- IV drip titration and vasoactive medication management
- EPIC electronic health record documentation
- Vent troubleshooting and collaboration with respiratory therapy
- Acute management of sepsis, stroke, post-stent and pacemaker patients, renal and heart failure
- Trauma and critical care workflows in an acute, Level 2 trauma setting
- Strong clinical judgment, delegation and multi-patient prioritization skills
