Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity critical care for ICU patients including neuro, cardiac, PCI, sepsis, TBI and stroke cases
• Manage ventilators and complex drips such as pressors, antiarrhythmics and sedation safely and confidently
• Read and interpret cardiac/telemetry strips and respond to changes in patient status
• Serve as Charge Nurse and Resource RN when assigned, coordinating care and supporting the team
• Collaborate with in-house intensivists, hospitalists, RT and pharmacy to deliver timely, evidence-based care
• Perform thorough bedside assessments, deliver timely interventions and document accurately in Cerner
• Participate in bedside report and unit huddles to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California (must be eligible to practice)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care nursing experience (position prefers 3 years)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Experience with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive drips
• Comfort interpreting telemetry and performing charge nurse duties; preceptor/orientation experience is a plus
• CCRN preferred but not required

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma accepted
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and clinical judgment
• Proficiency with Cerner charting and documentation
• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Ventilator management and respiratory collaboration with RT
• Safe administration and titration of pressors and other drips
• Effective communication for bedside report and interdisciplinary huddles
• Ability to float to telemetry and ED ICU/Tele holds as needed
