Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-acuity critical care to ICU patients, including cardiac, post-op, sepsis, stroke, and other complex diagnoses
• Manage ventilators and perform ventilator care and troubleshooting in collaboration with RTs
• Titrate and manage vasopressors and other infusion drips safely and accurately
• Continuously monitor telemetry and respond to arrhythmias and changes in patient status
• Document timely and clearly in Cerner PowerChart to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with in-house intensivists and the multidisciplinary team for rapid clinical decision making
• Provide compassionate patient- and family-centered care that supports high patient satisfaction
• Float to Telemetry and ER as needed and assist with ICU holds while maintaining unit standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for California (state licensure required)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• CCRN strongly preferred
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required; 3 years preferred unless coming from a large institution with 2+ years critical care experience
• Prior travel nurse experience preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts, every-other-weekend coverage, and occasional holidays

Education

• BSN: Not required

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU nursing fundamentals and critical care assessment
• Ventilator management and respiratory support collaboration with RT
• Management of vasopressors, heparin, nitro and other infusion drips
• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition
• Proficiency with Cerner PowerChart documentation
• Experience working 1:1 and 1:2 patient ratios
• Ability to work autonomously and float to Telemetry and ER when needed
• Strong communication and teamwork with intensivists, RTs, and pharmacy
