Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts (night schedule), rotating weekends (EOW or up to 3 weekends/month). Nightshift weekend coverage is Friday-Saturday. Self-scheduling with manager balancing; guaranteed 36 hours/week. (Specific clock-in/out times not listed.)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity critical care for surgical, trauma, neuro and cardiac ICU patients, delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing
- Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment (Dreager, Hamilton, Puritan Bennett, V60, Airvo)
- Titrate and manage a wide range of IV drips (vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropes, insulin, anticoagulants)
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and strips independently using GE monitors and act promptly on dysrhythmias
- Care for Level 1 trauma and neurosurgical cases, including post-op crani and ex-lap patients
- Collaborate with intensivists, RTs, and multidisciplinary teams for 24/7 in-house critical care
- Float among Medical ICU, Medical Cardiac and overflow units as needed and support unit staffing (charge responsibilities when assigned)
- Complete required pre-employment and orientation validations (UNA Dysrhythmia exam 24-48 hrs prior, pass/fail sim lab on Day 1)
Qualifications
- Current RN license (able to submit to facility) — Arizona licensure preferred
- Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience (required) with at least 2 years in the ICU; experience must include EITHER neuro or cardiovascular (CV)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Demonstrated ability to titrate drips and manage ventilated patients
- Comfortable working in a Level 1 trauma environment and interpreting cardiac strips (no monitor techs on unit)
- Able to float across similar-size ICUs and to telemetry (1:3 or 1:4 ratios)
- UNA Dysrhythmia exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance (max 2 attempts); must pass sim lab on Day 1 of orientation
Education
- Active RN license (BSN not required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care and ICU nursing fundamentals
- Ventilator management and advanced respiratory support
- Titration of IV drips: vasoactive agents, sedatives, paralytics, insulin, anticoagulation
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
- Trauma and neurosurgical patient care
- Familiarity with ECMO and CRRT (preferred, not required)
- Experience with Cerner charting and GE monitoring systems
- Ability to work autonomously in high-acuity situations and as part of an interdisciplinary team
