Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating nights, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule includes 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks, guaranteed ~36 hours/week, may be placed on standby and required to float between ICU and Tele units (Tele float patient load up to 4:1)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert critical care to neuro patients: perform focused neuro assessments and manage ICP monitoring
- Manage ventilators and participate in interdisciplinary respiratory care with RT support
- Maintain sterile technique during central line dressing changes and procedures
- Perform Foley catheter insertion and competency-based SIMs Lab skills when required
- Monitor patients continuously on Phillips telemetry and respond to acute changes
- Collaborate with the neuro team on complex cases including craniotomies, tumor resections and spine surgeries
- Float to Tele units when needed and safely manage higher patient ratios on those units
- Serve as a reliable team member in a Level 1 Trauma environment, supporting unit-based charge roles when assigned
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license (state licensure required for Phoenix/AZ submission)
- Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience in a large hospital (450+ beds) — neuro or critical care preferred
- Level 1 Trauma experience and EVD (external ventricular drain) experience required
- 3-6 months prior travel nurse experience preferred
- Experience with Cerner charting and Phillips monitors helpful
- Ability to pass pre-assignment exams and SIMs Lab skills (sterile field competency required)
- Willingness to float across ICU and Tele units; travel teams must have their own vehicle
- Compliance with site-specific appearance/fit-test rules (natural hair color, no facial piercings; men must be clean shaven for fit test)
Education
- Active RN license required
- BSN not required (indicated as not required), but nursing degree preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong neuro assessment skills and familiarity with ICP monitoring
- Ventilator management and collaboration with respiratory therapy
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation using Phillips systems
- Central line care, dressing changes, and Foley catheter insertion competency
- Infection control and sterile technique expertise
- Ability to function in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma ICU with excellent prioritization
- Proficient electronic charting (Cerner) and effective interdisciplinary communication
