Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Days 06:45 AM - 07:15 PM and Nights 06:45 PM - 07:15 AM; Every-other-weekend coverage (Friday–Sunday); holiday rotation as required. Primarily day shifts with expectation to float to Tele & ER as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver expert critical care to ICU patients, managing ventilators and complex respiratory support
• Administer and titrate drips including vasopressors, nitroglycerin, and heparin safely and confidently
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and respond rapidly to dysrhythmias and hemodynamic changes
• Document timely, accurate patient care in Cerner PowerChart and communicate effectively with the care team
• Collaborate with in-house intensivists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care that supports high patient satisfaction
• Assist with unit flow by floating to Tele and ER for ICU holds and supporting throughput efforts
• Support charge nurse activities when needed and contribute to a positive, professional unit culture

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required to submit)
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• CCRN preferred (nice-to-have)
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required (note: some units prefer 3 years or 2+ years from a large institution)
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable with 1:1 and 1:2 ratios and high-acuity patients
• Ability to work every-other-weekend schedule and holiday rotations

Education

• Active RN license; BSN is not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in ventilator management and respiratory assessment
• Experience managing vasopressors and vasoactive drips
• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac post-op care familiarity (CABG, PCI, balloon pumps)
• Proficiency with Cerner PowerChart electronic documentation
• Ability to triage and prioritize in fast-paced acute care ICU settings
• Team collaboration and effective interdisciplinary communication
