Location: Northridge, CA

End Date: 03-31-2026
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Day shift, 8-hour shifts); call required every other week (EOW) and rotating weekends — 30-minute call response
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare endoscopy rooms and equipment thoroughly before each procedure to ensure smooth, safe operations
- Assist nurses and physicians during ERCP, EGD and bronchoscopy procedures to support excellent patient care
- Maintain sterile technique and perform instrument cleanup and sterilization after procedures
- Set up and troubleshoot endoscopic instruments and scopes so teams can focus on patient outcomes
- Respond to call/standby assignments within a 30-minute window to support urgent or overflow cases
- Chart accurately in Cerner and communicate clear handoffs to the care team
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program OR 1 year of experience as a GI Lab Technician
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (GI/endoscopy preferred)
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Comfortable with ERCP, EGD and Bronchoscopy procedural environments
- Able to respond to call within 30 minutes and work rotating weekends/EOW call
- Familiarity with Cerner charting preferred; willingness to complete 12 hours of orientation
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program or equivalent formal training; OR one year of experience as a GI Lab Technician
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven endoscopy skills and room/equipment preparation expertise
- Strong sterile technique and infection control practices
- Experience assisting during procedures (ERCP, EGD, Bronchoscopy)
- Ability to perform cleanup, sterilization and instrument reprocessing
- Patient assistance skills with a calm, professional bedside manner
- Charting and documentation experience (Cerner preferred)
- Comfort working on a 3-person team in a 2-suite GI/endoscopy setting
