Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative and endoscopy nursing care for colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, EUS and TIF procedures
• Assist in the OR, Preop and PACU — coordinate safe patient handoffs and transitions of care
• Perform patient assessments, monitor sedation and vital signs, and intervene promptly when needed
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Epic to maintain clear, compliant charts
• Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to after-hours requests as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery and post-procedure care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas (compact license accepted if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience (GI/endoscopy or perioperative experience preferred)
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Comfortable providing care in OR, Preop and PACU settings and participating in on-call coverage
• Familiarity with Epic documentation strongly preferred
• Reliable communicator with strong teamwork and clinical judgment

Education

• Active RN license (Associate degree or diploma acceptable)
• BSN not required for this role

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of endoscopy procedures: colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, EUS and related interventions
• Perioperative nursing skills (OR/PACU/Preop) and acute care assessment
• Proficiency with EpicCare inpatient charting and documentation workflows
• Medication administration, monitoring sedation and managing airway/safety concerns
• Sterile technique, infection control and peri-procedural patient safety practices
• Ability to triage, prioritize and respond effectively during on-call situations
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient education and team collaboration
