Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care across pre-op, intra-op and post-op phases for endoscopy and GI patients
• Administer and monitor conscious and IV sedation safely and according to facility protocols
• Recover patients from anesthesia and manage post-procedure assessments and discharges
• Perform bedside procedures and assist with common cases including EGD, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy and EBUS
• Monitor patient vitals and intervene promptly; take responsibility for patient safety and comfort
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, communicate clearly with surgeons and techs, and support unit flow
• Document care accurately in Meditech and ensure compliance with unit policies and charting standards
• Float to preop/PACU when needed and support the unit without relying on tech or aide coverage

Qualifications

• Active RN license (note: OR license not required at time of submittal; OR 90-Day Emergency License can be requested after offer acceptance)
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience, preferably in endoscopy, perioperative or GI settings
• Current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Experience administering and discharging surgery and endoscopy patients, including conscious sedation
• Comfortable recovering general anesthesia and performing phase 2/postop care
• Familiarity with Meditech charting system
• Strong assessment, monitoring and patient education skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, diploma or BSN accepted)
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Endoscopy procedures: EGD, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy and EBUS experience
• Perioperative nursing across PreOp, IntraOp and PostOp phases
• Conscious sedation and IV sedation administration and monitoring
• Patient discharge planning and post-procedure education
• Ability to monitor, circulate and scrub when functioning in intraoperative roles
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic charting
• Excellent communication, teamwork and critical thinking under pressure
