Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately across adult and pediatric populations
• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care from minor illness to critically ill patients
• Interpret EKGs and participate in STEMI and CVA response processes
• Administer procedural sedation and monitor patients per unit protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, midlevels, techs, and EMS to ensure safe handoffs
• Float to pediatric ER when needed and deliver family-centered pediatric care
• Document care in Cerner and complete required education with the ER educator

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to work in CA required)
• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience (ED, ED ICU, or critical care strongly preferred)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• PALS and NIHSS required; ENPC or CPEN preferred for pediatric-focused candidates
• Strong EKG interpretation skills and experience with STEMI/CVA response
• No first-time travelers; travel team pairs/duos not accepted
• Ability to float to pediatric ER and work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or nursing diploma accepted
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing fundamentals and triage
• Pediatric emergency nursing and pediatric assessment
• EKG interpretation and STEMI/CVA recognition
• Procedural sedation monitoring and critical care practices
• Cerner charting system experience
• Team-based communication with physicians, midlevels, techs, and EMS
