Shift Type: Rotating nights, 12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, typically 3 nights/week (36 hours/week); every-other-week (EOW) scheduling with self-scheduling after initial rotation; includes 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period (nights: Fri & Sat); may require holiday availability; traveler may float as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Place patients into appropriate beds using TeleTracking and Cerner, ensuring safe and efficient patient flow
- Assess bed requests and apply critical thinking to redirect inappropriate placements (e.g., med-surg vs telemetry)
- Coordinate with ED staff, charge nurses and leadership via multiple applications and chats to prioritize placements
- Manage multiple screens and applications simultaneously to maintain situational awareness across up to 3 hospitals
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders to resolve bed issues
- Follow site-specific policies and escalate complex situations to leadership—this role has zero hands-on patient care
- Complete required pre-assignment modules and the UNA Dys exam within required timelines prior to start
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to submit RN license) — required
- BLS certification — required
- Minimum 2 years recent acute care nursing experience preferred (1 LTC contract acceptable in some cases; candidates with last 2-3 assignments in SNF may be declined)
- Experience with TeleTracking (TeleTrac) and Cerner EMR — required
- House supervisor experience or knowledge preferred (must have patient placement focus)
- Strong computer proficiency, including Zoom and Google applications
- Excellent multitasking, communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to complete UNA Dys exam (or provide acceptable Relias Dys exam from last 12 months) within 24-48 hours as part of acceptance
- Able to work required weekends, nights and holidays when needed; limited RTO accommodations
Education
- BSN: Not required (BSN Required: No)
- No specific degree required beyond active RN license
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient placement and bed management processes
- TeleTracking (TeleTrac) bed management system
- Cerner EMR navigation and charting workflows
- Acute care unit differences (MedSurg vs Telemetry vs ED) and appropriate bed types
- Critical thinking for appropriate bed placement
- High-level multitasking across multiple screens and chat platforms
- Professional communication with ED, charge nurses and leadership
- Customer-service oriented approach to internal hospital partnerships
