Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Day 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and Night 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating schedule includes weekends (2 out of 6) and holiday coverage as needed; guaranteed 36 hours/week

Roles & Responsibilities
- Triage and rapidly assess patients on arrival, prioritizing care for the sickest first
- Provide comprehensive patient assessment and deliver timely medication administration, including drips
- Perform IV therapy, medication mixing and manage common ED infusions (insulin, heparin, Levofed, Cardizem, etc.)
- Assist with respiratory support and intubation procedures and operate respiratory equipment (Bipap, vent, heated high flow, Glidescope)
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and monitor strips; act quickly on abnormal findings
- Deliver trauma care and stabilize patients for transfer to higher levels of care when needed
- Document care accurately in Meditech and collaborate closely with physicians, NPs/PAs, RT and ancillary staff
- Support unit flow, float to other areas as needed, and participate in orientation and ongoing unit processes to improve patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing (ND or compact where applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience (acute/ED experience required)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
- Preferred certifications/skills: NRP, prior travel nurse experience, trauma nursing background
- Comfortable with medication mixing, IV insertion/management, and reading/interpreting cardiac strips
- Ability to assist with respiratory meds/equipment and intubation
- Strong critical thinking, communication, teamwork and time-management skills
Education
- Active RN license (required)
- BSN not required but welcomed; clinical competence and experience are prioritized
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing principles: triage, rapid assessment, trauma care
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation and ACLS-level interventions
- IV therapy, medication mixing, and infusion/drip management
- Respiratory support knowledge: Bipap, ventilators, heated high-flow devices, Glidescope-assisted intubation
- Experience with Meditech charting system
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ED with fluctuating nurse:patient ratios
- Competence with common ED procedures and familiarity with common drips (insulin, heparin, amiodarone, propofol, etc.)
