Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts with day and evening coverage (examples: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM; 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM; 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM; 2:00 PM - 2:00 AM). Varied days including weekends (every-other-weekend requirement). Schedules posted 30-45 days in advance. Guaranteed 36 hours/week.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Rapidly assess, triage, and stabilize patients presenting with acute illness and trauma
- Manage ventilators and interpret telemetry strips, collaborating with RT and ICU monitoring teams
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Cerner (FirstNet) to ensure continuity of care
- Serve as charge nurse when assigned, coordinating patient flow and supporting the team
- Provide compassionate care for psychiatric patients and fast-track cases during busy periods
- Participate in unit-specific orientation and ongoing education to maintain clinical excellence
- Collaborate with physicians, midlevels, and interdisciplinary staff to support safe patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing (must be able to submit license)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (current)
- COVID-19 vaccination proof required
- Minimum clinical experience noted on posting: 2 years; specialty preference: 3-5 years emergency/trauma experience (trauma level III or above preferred)
- Comfortable with ventilator patients, telemetry monitoring (Phillips), and pediatric emergency care
- Ability to work every-other-weekend and participate in holiday rotations
Education
- Active RN license required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient charting in Cerner (FirstNet)
- Strong emergency nursing assessment and triage skills
- Experience with ventilator management and telemetry interpretation
- Familiarity with fast-track workflows and pediatric emergency presentations
- Ability to manage high-acuity patients (stroke, orthopedic injuries, psychiatric presentations)
- Charge nurse experience and effective team leadership under pressure
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
