Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, efficient emergency nursing care in a high-volume ER handling up to 250 visits per day
• Rapidly triage, assess, and prioritize patients to ensure timely treatment and safe dispositions
• Administer medications, manage IVs and collaborate with the IV/RT/pharmacy teams as needed
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in Cerner PowerChart
• Support fast track operations and help manage patient flow between fast track and acute care
• Coordinate with physicians, PAs, NPs, RTs, and techs to optimize clinical outcomes
• Recognize and respond to STEMI, stroke, sepsis, DKA, respiratory compromise and other acute presentations
• Serve as a reliable team member during weekends, holidays, and surge periods

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (ER or relevant acute care experience required)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS (required as listed)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department
• Experience with Cerner PowerChart or similar EMR strongly preferred
• Trauma experience preferred; first-time travelers are welcome
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays as required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills for adult and pediatric patients
• Familiarity with STEMI protocols, stroke pathways, sepsis and DKA management
• Comfort with telemetry/monitoring systems and ventilator awareness (RT support available)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in multidisciplinary ER settings
• Ability to document clearly and efficiently in Cerner PowerChart
• Calm decision-making under pressure and strong prioritization skills
