Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency care to a high-volume ER (avg. 125-150 patients/day) using evidence-based practice
• Assess, triage and prioritize patients quickly and accurately in a Level IV ER environment
• Manage acute cardiac and stroke cases including STEMI and tPA-capable workflows
• Stabilize major trauma patients for transfer following TNCC principles
• Operate and interpret telemetry/monitoring strips and manage ventilated patients as needed
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-levels, RTs, pharmacology and ED techs/EMTs to optimize patient outcomes
• Serve as first to float within Region I when needed, providing consistent, flexible coverage

Qualifications

• Current RN (Registered Nurse) — able to submit license (License to Submit: yes)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (Emergency Department experience preferred)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (or ENPC), TNCC
• Comfortable with telemetry/monitoring, ventilator management and acute cardiac/stroke protocols
• Ability to work nights and every other weekend, and to float within Region I when requested
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips and function independently in busy ED settings

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
• BSN not required (BSN field indicates '---' in job data)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system
• Strong triage and rapid assessment skills for high-acuity patients
• Trauma stabilization and transfer coordination
• Stroke/tPA management and NIHSS scoring
• STEMI recognition and coordination of cardiac care
• Ventilator management and basic respiratory care collaboration with RT
• Effective communication and teamwork with ED techs, EMTs, physicians and ancillary staff
• Phlebotomy familiarity and comfort performing or overseeing lab draws in the ED
