Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts including days and nights: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM; 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM. Schedule includes weekends (4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks) and rotating coverage across facilities (day/night/rotating)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency and trauma nursing care for adult and pediatric patients in a Level I trauma ED
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize interventions in high-acuity situations
- Administer medications, manage airways and supports, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain sterile technique and perform procedures such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes as required
- Accurately document care in Cerner and read telemetry strips using Phillips monitors
- Support safe patient flow, work with charge RNs, and assist with triage and critical care transfers
- Participate in SIMs lab skills validation and demonstrate competency in lifts, restraints, and wound care
- Adhere to unit policies, maintain professional appearance standards, and complete required competency exams
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to work in Arizona)
- Minimum 1 year of Trauma Level I experience (will screen candidates with 8+ months); 2 years ER experience preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (ENPC does not replace PALS)
- Cerner EMR experience—please list Cerner work history and recency on your resume
- No first-time travel nurses; travel experience required
- Successful completion of DYS exam prior to accepting assignment (2 attempts allowed)
- Willingness to float between St. Joseph's Main, Westgate, and two free-standing ERs; travel team must have vehicle
- Must pass SIMs lab skills (sterile field competency expected); be prepared for pass/fail orientation testing
- Facility requirements while on assignment: natural hair color, no facial piercings; male candidates must be clean shaven for fit testing
Education
- Active RN license; BSN not required for submission
- Unit-specific orientation: 12 hours formal orientation + 2-3 floor shifts
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong emergency and trauma nursing assessment skills and prioritization
- Competency with Cerner charting and documentation workflows
- Ability to read telemetry and interpret cardiac strips (Phillips monitors)
- Experience with Foley insertion, central line dressing changes, and maintaining sterile field
- Comfort managing high patient volumes and diverse diagnoses including trauma, burns, and behavioral health holds
- Team collaboration with RT, pharmacists, intensivists, and hospitalists in high-acuity settings
- Effective communication, rapid decision-making, and calm performance under pressure
- Familiarity with pediatric transfers and CP/SC TBIN processes where applicable
