Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform routine and trauma CT examinations for inpatient, outpatient and ED patients with accuracy and compassion
• Operate and optimize CT scanners (GE REV CT and GE REV HD) to produce high-quality diagnostic images
• Assist with advanced procedures including cardiac CT, biopsies/drains, and cryo/microwave ablations when scheduled
• Start IVs for outpatients as needed and maintain excellent venous access skills
• Maintain radiation safety practices, wear required radiation badge, and follow dose-reduction protocols
• Document exams and communicate findings clearly using EPIC and SECTRA/PACS systems
• Collaborate with radiologists, nursing, and modality leads to ensure efficient, patient-centered care
• Float to X-ray when needed to support ED/inpatient/outpatient imaging coverage

Qualifications

• ARRT RT (R) and ARRT (CT) verification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of CT experience (trauma experience required)
• Radiation badge required prior to starting the travel assignment
• Comfortable performing IV starts (very helpful for outpatients)
• Experience with EPIC (EMR) and SECTRA/PACS strongly preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and occasional weekends/holidays as scheduled

Education

• Certifications required (ARRT RT (R) and ARRT (CT)); BLS required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in CT imaging protocols and trauma CT workflows
• Experience with GE REV CT and GE REV HD scanner platforms
• Strong PACS (SECTRA) and EMR (EPIC) documentation skills
• Understanding of radiation safety and badge requirements
• Familiarity with cardiac CT, image-guided biopsies/drains, and ablation workflows
• Ability to multitask in a busy acute care setting (65-70 scans per 24-hour period across 3 scanners)
• Professional communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with radiologists and staff
