Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT exams across a full range of studies, including trauma and stroke protocols
- Operate and optimize imaging on the GE 64-slice scanner to produce diagnostic images
- Administer IV contrast per department policy and coordinate with ED/IP staff for IV starts when required
- Document exams and patient care accurately in Epic EMR and archive images in Fuji Synapse PACS
- Maintain patient safety and radiation safety practices while providing compassionate care
- Participate in orientation and unit training to ensure seamless integration with the radiology team
- Communicate effectively with radiologists, technologists, nursing and emergency teams to support rapid, informed decisions
Qualifications
- Certified CT Technologist — ARRT (CT) required
- Active Kansas radiologic technologist license required
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on CT experience
- Experience with IV contrast administration (note: technologists are not required to start IVs overnight; ED/IP unit starts IVs)
- Familiarity with GE 64-slice systems, Epic EMR, and Fuji Synapse PACS
- Willingness to work overnight weekend shifts and holidays
- Valid driver's license (DL must be submitted) and ability to meet the 60-mile radius requirement for the assignment
- Available to be in-state for the week of orientation
Education
- ARRT (CT) certification required
- BLS (AHA) required
- Formal degree not specified
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging protocols, including stroke and trauma approaches
- Proficiency with GE CT hardware and image acquisition
- Experience using Epic EMR and Fuji Synapse PACS for ordering, charting, and image management
- Good IV contrast safety knowledge and recognition of contrast reactions
- Excellent patient positioning, immobilization and communication skills
- Ability to work independently overnight and make sound clinical decisions
- Basic troubleshooting and equipment care skills
- Teamwork and clear communication with radiologists and emergency staff
