Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs, heights and weights to support clinical decision making
• Prepare exam rooms and charting materials so providers can deliver efficient, high-quality care
• Collect and label specimens including urine clean-catch and point-of-care tests
• Administer injections and immunizations following protocols and patient safety practices
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and pulse oximetry as needed to assist provider assessments
• Handle administrative duties such as chart preparation, pharmacy/refill calls, and follow-up communications
• Document patient history, medications, and allergies in EPIC to maintain precise medical records
• Support geriatric wellness visits with professionalism and empathy

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) required; MA-R, MA-P, or MA-HT are not eligible
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an MA-C in an adult outpatient clinic setting
• EPIC experience is preferred and helpful for charting and clinic flow
• BLS, CMA, and state licensure are preferred certifications
• Travel experience not required; first-time travelers are welcome
• Ability to work the posted 4x10 schedule (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with vital signs, rooming patients, and exam preparation
• Skilled in injections, intradermal and intramuscular techniques, and immunizations
• Experience with specimen collection, labeling, and point-of-care testing (glucometer, strep, UA)
• Comfortable performing 12-lead EKGs and pulse oximetry
• Familiarity with EPIC charting and outpatient primary care workflows
• Strong communication for follow-up calls, pharmacy refill requests, and patient education
• Attention to detail for medication administration and documentation
