Shift Type: Primarily nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour nights); rotating weekends with day shifts on Saturday & Sunday and night shifts on Friday & Saturday (rotating schedule)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate pediatric critical care for post-operative congenital heart disease and other complex ICU patients
- Manage advanced lines and devices including arterial lines, central lines and transthoracic monitoring with meticulous attention to safety
- Perform and assist with advanced procedures such as intubation/extubation, conscious sedation recovery and sternal closures
- Participate in ECMO cannulation and decannulation and manage CRRT and manual peritoneal dialysis when indicated
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans that support family-centered care
- Act as a patient advocate and clear communicator with families, physicians and the ICU team during high-acuity situations
- Document thoroughly in Meditech EMR and contribute to handoffs that keep continuity and safety front and center
Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing (state licensure required)
- PALS and BLS certifications (required)
- Minimum 1 year of staff experience in Pediatric CICU/CVICU (must-have)
- At least 2 years of PICU experience preferred and often requested
- Demonstrated experience caring for congenital heart disease patients and post-operative CHD management
- Competence with arterial, central and transthoracic line management
- Experience with ECMO support (cannulation/decannulation), CRRT and manual PD highly desirable
- Comfortable with Meditech EMR and strong documentation practices
- Ability to work rotating schedules and weekends with flexibility and teamwork
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in pediatric critical care principles and post-operative cardiac nursing
- Skill in managing ventilators and respiratory support (Servo U vents and related monitoring)
- Familiarity with IV infusion pumps (Medfusion, Baxter) and pediatric equipment (Hillrom beds, radiant warmers)
- Strong assessment skills for rapid response and code situations
- Excellent communication, clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in high-acuity settings
- Compassionate family-centered care approach and ability to work well in interdisciplinary teams
