Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate nursing care for progressive care (PCU) neuro-trauma patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry continuously to detect and respond to changes in patient status
• Manage complex equipment and therapies including bedside monitors, end-tidal O2 monitoring, high-flow oxygen, and chronic ventilator support
• Perform and manage procedures common to the unit such as chest tube care and EEG monitoring
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
• Document timely and accurate assessments and interventions in Meditech
• Maintain safe patient ratios and prioritize care to ensure high-quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (able to work in New Hampshire)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with telemetry/step-down or progressive care experience strongly preferred
• ACLS and BLS required prior to start
• Neuro and trauma experience preferred; NHISS and TNCC are a plus
• Comfortable caring for patients with chest tubes, subdural drains, and on high-flow or ventilator support
• Ability to float to other inpatient units including ICU and ED as needed

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Diploma/ADN/BSN in Nursing preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition skills
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems for clinical documentation
• Skilled in managing bedside monitors, end-tidal CO2/O2 monitoring, and high-flow oxygen devices
• Hands-on experience with chest tube management and EEG monitoring
• Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization in a 4:1 patient ratio environment
• Team-focused communication and collaboration in fast-paced acute care settings
