Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, rotating schedule that includes weekends (required 3 weekend shifts per 4-week period); may include float coverage to related units
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond quickly to rhythm changes to keep patients safe
- Perform Q4 full assessments and hourly vitals as required for progressive care
- Provide skilled post-surgical care including ambulation and wound monitoring
- Initiate and manage IV therapy, phlebotomy, NG tube care, and tracheostomy care
- Administer respiratory support including CPAP and high-flow oxygen per protocols
- Manage non-titratable drips (except heparin) and follow unit medication safety policies
- Deliver NIH/stroke assessments and participate in acute stroke care pathways
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered discharge plans
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to work in Alaska)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (progressive care/telemetry preferred)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
- Comfortable with Epic EMR and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with post-surgical patients, cardiac and neuro care is highly valued
- Ability to adapt, work efficiently in a fast-paced unit, and function well on a team
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring expertise
- Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
- Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, NG tube and tracheostomy care
- Experience with CPAP, high-flow oxygen and non-titratable drips
- Familiarity with NIH stroke assessments, CIWA protocols and electrolyte management
- Ability to prioritize multiple patients with a 4:1 ratio in a PCU setting
- Excellent communication, teamwork and adaptability
