Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the care team promptly
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility support, and fall prevention
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and resident interactions
- Support a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through attentive, empathetic care
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification in Pennsylvania (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and supporting a diverse resident population
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Prior long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred but not required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care principles and infection control
- Skillful in safe resident handling and mobility assistance
- Familiarity with documenting care in electronic or paper charting systems
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently during night shifts
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
