Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for Med-Surg and Orthopedic patients
• Assess, monitor and document patient status using EPIC and communicate changes promptly
• Interpret basic cardiac rhythms and respond to telemetry findings confidently
• Provide safe medication administration and manage PCA-related care
• Perform hourly rounding and bedside shift report to improve patient experience and safety
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including charge nurses, techs, and therapists
• Float to Rehab, Skilled Nursing, or Progressive Care Unit as needed while maintaining safe assignments
• Adhere to facility policies and professional standards to ensure quality care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state licensure required for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (Med-Surg/Ortho/Telemetry experience preferred)
• BLS certification required at start; ACLS preferred
• Experience with EPIC charting and basic rhythm interpretation (telemetry)
• Valid driver’s license required at submission to confirm radius eligibility
• Ability to pass an open-book orientation exam with a 90% score (per facility requirement)
• Willingness to comply with facility policies (including fingernail/artificial nail policy) and unit dress code (navy scrubs)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med-Surg and Orthopedic nursing knowledge
• Telemetry and basic rhythm interpretation skills
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
• Comfort with PCA management and set-rate drip familiarity
• Excellent bedside shift reporting and hourly rounding techniques
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, fluctuating census environment
• Teamwork, adaptability, positive attitude, and dependable work habits
