Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for post-surgical and general surgery patients on a 17-bed Surgical Care Unit
- Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms, respond to changes, and escalate concerns promptly
- Perform and manage procedures such as NG tube care and central line maintenance when indicated
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic to support continuity and quality
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and family communication
- Maintain patient ratios and prioritize workload to deliver excellent patient experience and outcomes
- Adhere to unit policies, support floating when needed, and contribute to a positive team environment
Qualifications
- Current RN with at least 2 years of clinical experience (telemetry/Med-Surg preferred)
- Required: BLS certification
- Proven telemetry monitoring and Med/Surg experience, including post-surgical patient care
- Experience with NG tube care and central line handling
- Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic health record systems
- Comfort working rotating schedules and covering weekend shifts as required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry rhythm interpretation and cardiac monitoring best practices
- Post-surgical assessment, wound and drain management, and pain control strategies
- NG tube placement/management and central line care protocols
- Strong documentation skills in Epic and clear clinical communication
- Time management, prioritization, and the ability to work within a 1:6 patient ratio
- Teamwork, adaptability for floating to like units, and a patient-centered approach
