Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the Med-Surg unit with compassion and professionalism
• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and respond promptly to changes in status
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following policies and best practices
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and discharge instructions
• Document care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
• Support unit flow by prioritizing tasks, coordinating admissions/discharges, and assisting colleagues during busy periods

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or eligible for compact licensure
• Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg RN experience as indicated in the job posting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or as required by facility
• Current immunizations and compliance with facility health requirements
• Strong clinical assessment, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med-Surg nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency with patient monitoring, IV therapy, wound care, and medication administration
• Comfortable using electronic health records and clinical documentation systems
• Excellent clinical judgment and prioritization under pressure
• Team-oriented attitude and effective patient/family communication skills
