Shift Type: Rotating shifts including weekends; primary assigned shift 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM (12-hour); other possible shift start times include 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM

Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across all acuity levels
- Rapidly assess and triage patients, prioritizing care based on clinical need
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy using Alaris IV pumps
- Operate and troubleshoot emergency equipment such as Lucas devices, Level 1 rapid infusers, GE monitors, I-STAT and EPOC
- Participate in stroke, STEMI and trauma protocols to ensure timely interventions
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
- Collaborate with charge RNs, flow coordinators, ED techs and physicians to maintain patient flow and safety
- Provide compassionate patient and family education and support during high-stress moments
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) - active license required
- Minimum 2 years of prior Emergency Department nursing experience
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIH, ENPC
- Comfortable working with adult and pediatric populations
- Ability to work rotating weekends and varied shift start times
- Strong teamwork, communication and critical thinking skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system
- Experience with Lucas devices, Level 1 rapid infusers and GE monitoring systems
- Skill using Alaris IV pumps, I-STAT and EPOC point-of-care testing
- Competence in splinting, breathing treatments and other common ED procedures
- Familiarity with stroke/STEMI pathways and trauma response
- Comfort managing typical ED patient ratios (generally 4:1; up to 6:1 for low-acuity cases)
- Efficient triage, time management and patient flow strategies
