Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across all acuity levels
• Rapidly assess and triage patients, prioritizing care based on clinical need
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy using Alaris IV pumps
• Operate and troubleshoot emergency equipment such as Lucas devices, Level 1 rapid infusers, GE monitors, I-STAT and EPOC
• Participate in stroke, STEMI and trauma protocols to ensure timely interventions
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
• Collaborate with charge RNs, flow coordinators, ED techs and physicians to maintain patient flow and safety
• Provide compassionate patient and family education and support during high-stress moments

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) - active license required
• Minimum 2 years of prior Emergency Department nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIH, ENPC
• Comfortable working with adult and pediatric populations
• Ability to work rotating weekends and varied shift start times
• Strong teamwork, communication and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system
• Experience with Lucas devices, Level 1 rapid infusers and GE monitoring systems
• Skill using Alaris IV pumps, I-STAT and EPOC point-of-care testing
• Competence in splinting, breathing treatments and other common ED procedures
• Familiarity with stroke/STEMI pathways and trauma response
• Comfort managing typical ED patient ratios (generally 4:1; up to 6:1 for low-acuity cases)
• Efficient triage, time management and patient flow strategies
