Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity critical care to ICU and COVID patients with skill and compassion
• Monitor and manage complex hemodynamic parameters and vasoactive drips safely and accurately
• Operate and support advanced therapies such as ECMO and CRRT when needed
• Perform critical procedures and post-procedural care including central line and chest tube management
• Document care thoroughly and efficiently in Meditech to support continuity and quality
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to other areas per unit policy to support patient care needs and maintain staffing flexibility
• Participate in unit-based policies and uphold safety and infection control practices for COVID care

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required; temporary licenses will not be accepted
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• NIH training or equivalent research/assessment training as listed
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience, with COVID patient experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable and experienced with vasoactive drips and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with ECMO and CRRT preferred
• Experience documenting in Meditech preferred
• Ability to work a rotating schedule, including every-other-weekend rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Familiarity with ECMO basics and CRRT operation or support
• Critical care assessment and rapid intervention skills
• Ventilator management and respiratory support for severe COVID patients
• Proficient documentation practices in electronic health records (Meditech preferred)
• Comfort with high-acuity, fast-paced ICU environment and 1:2 patient ratios
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
• Adherence to infection control and COVID-specific safety protocols
