Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Triage and assess patients quickly to prioritize care and improve outcomes
• Administer medications, treatments, and critical interventions following protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Maintain situational awareness in high-acuity moments and support team safety
• Adapt to changing census and acuity while preserving patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (California preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ER) nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI
• Comfortable working 12-hour rotating shifts and adapting to changing acuity
• Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to pass hospital onboarding, screening, and credentialing

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Active RN license required (California)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department nursing workflows and triage principles
• Proficiency with EMR systems (experience with MEDITECH a plus)
• Familiarity with trauma, acute care interventions, and rapid assessment
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced settings
• Ability to manage multiple patients (typical ED ratios noted at ~4:1)
• Comfort with unit policies, infection control, and patient safety practices
