Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic sleep studies and comprehensive evaluations for patients with suspected sleep disorders
• Select, calibrate and operate sleep lab equipment and sensors to ensure accurate data collection
• Apply electrodes and sensors according to published standards and maintain high-quality signal acquisition
• Conduct routine PAP interface fittings and desensitization to optimize patient comfort and therapy adherence
• Review patient history, verify medical orders, and determine final testing parameters with the physician
• Analyze sleep study data, document findings, and integrate results to support clinical decision-making
• Provide age-appropriate patient education on sleep disorders, testing procedures and therapy plans
• Document care and test results in the MediTech EMR and communicate clearly with the care team

Qualifications

• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RST or RPSGT) — required
• Active American Heart Association BLS — required
• 1+ years of polysomnographic technologist experience — required
• Licensed to practice Respiratory Care in Ohio — preferred
• Familiarity with MediTech EMR — preferred
• Strong attention to detail, patient-focused communication skills, and ability to follow clinical protocols

Knowledge & Skills

• Polysomnography and sleep disorder evaluation
• Electrode application and equipment calibration
• PAP interface fitting and desensitization techniques
• Data collection, scoring and analysis of sleep studies
• Patient education and age-appropriate communication
• Comfortable using MediTech EMR and documenting clinical encounters
• Ability to work independently overnight and collaborate with physicians and clinical teams
