Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate in the Operating Room: prepare the room, position patients, and facilitate smooth case flow
• Support a wide variety of surgical specialties including ortho, neuro, plastics, vascular, trauma, OB/GYN and urology
• Assist with robotic-assisted procedures (XI robot, Mako joint robot) and complex spine/crani cases
• Document care and case details accurately using Meditech
• Collaborate with anesthesia, CSTs and charge RN to maintain patient safety and 1:1 patient focus
• Perform timely turnover tasks to maximize OR efficiency and case throughput
• Apply AIDET and other patient experience practices to ensure compassionate, clear communication

Qualifications

• Active RN license (registered nurse) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant OR nursing experience (circulating preferred)
• Experience in general OR circulating across specialties (orthopedics, neuro, plastics, vascular, trauma, OB/GYN, urology)
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
• Comfort and experience with robotic surgery and advanced OR equipment preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong circulating RN skills: prepping, positioning, instrumentation flow and turnover
• Experience with robotic platforms (XI robot, Mako) and advanced spine/orthopedic equipment
• Proficient documentation and charting in Meditech
• Excellent teamwork and communication in high-acuity surgical settings
• Ability to follow unit policies, AIDET patient communication, and safety protocols
