Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 2 day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) and 1 night shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) per week; variable days, rotating schedule (36 hours/week)

Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret patient cardiac rhythms continuously, notifying nurses and clinicians immediately of any changes
- Initiate and discontinue telemetry monitoring on admission, transfer, or discharge and perform necessary equipment configuration
- Document EKG strips, rhythm intervals, and ectopy checks per department standards
- Perform daily telemetry box maintenance and ensure equipment is functioning correctly
- Communicate clearly and promptly with unit staff and providers when reporting rhythm changes
- Maintain accurate charting and telemetry charging while supporting exceptional patient and family experiences
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- BLS certification required
- Successful completion of York Hospital Clinical and Professional Development Dysrhythmia Course and EKG exam prior to completion of orientation
- Minimum two years experience monitoring ECG/Dysrhythmia in a physician's office, clinic, hospital, or similar setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work under moderate pressure
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to rapid, accurate responses to emergent and non-emergent requests
Education
- High School Diploma or GED; completion of York Hospital Dysrhythmia Course and EKG exam required prior to completion of orientation
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in cardiac rhythm surveillance, telemetry initiation/discontinuation, and EKG interpretation
- Familiarity with telemetry equipment configuration and daily box maintenance
- Skilled at accurate EKG strip documentation and medical charting
- Working knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology
- Ability to prioritize, stay calm under pressure, and collaborate with clinical teams
