Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to patients in the facility
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Assess patient condition, monitor vital signs, and document findings clearly
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
- Support facility safety and security procedures while maintaining patient dignity
- Participate in orientation and training (flexible two-week training period)
Qualifications
- Active California LVN license required
- Willingness to work in a correctional facility (CCI - California Correctional Institution)
- Availability for the posted schedule: Thursday through Monday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
- Able to complete a flexible two-week training/orientation
- Preferred: current CPR/BLS certification
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Vocational Nursing program; active LVN license in California required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong basic nursing skills: medication administration, wound care, and patient assessment
- Clear and accurate documentation skills
- Good communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
- Familiarity with infection control principles and safety protocols
- Ability to adapt to the correctional healthcare setting and follow facility procedures
