Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
- Support the nursing team by taking vital signs and reporting changes promptly
- Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to residents and families
- Maintain accurate patient records and document care in a timely manner
- Ensure a clean, safe environment by following infection prevention and safety protocols
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to promote positive patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in the state of Rhode Island (required)
- Recent experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass standard pre-employment screening (background and drug test)
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
- Proficient in taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices
- Teamwork mindset and the ability to follow care plans
