Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with personal hygiene, transfers, ambulation and safe mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
• Document care and observations in the patient record with clarity and timeliness
• Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with nursing staff to carry out care plans and communicate resident needs
• Create warm, respectful interactions that promote dignity and comfort for residents

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required) — must be valid in Rhode Island
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire
• Background check and immunizations per facility policy
• Comfort working the night shift and supporting residents with patience and compassion
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) assistance and safe patient transfers
• Able to take and accurately record vital signs and basic assessments
• Strong communication skills for working with residents, families and nursing staff
• Knowledge of infection control and proper use of PPE
• Reliable documentation practices and attention to detail
• Empathy, patience, and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
