Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using AWHONN fetal monitoring standards and intervene promptly when trends change
- Provide hands-on labor support and assist with deliveries, ensuring safety and dignity for birthing people
- Perform neonatal stabilization and initial care in collaboration with the team, using NRP and STABLE principles
- Use clinical judgment to manage obstetric emergencies and escalate to appropriate resources when needed
- Document assessments, interventions and patient education accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, neonatology and ancillary staff to create individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on labor progress, newborn care and postpartum recovery in a compassionate manner
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state of Utah) — must be eligible to submit
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (acute care/Labor & Delivery experience preferred)
- Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, BLS (AHA), NRP, STABLE
- Comfortable and experienced charting in EPIC
- Ability to work night shifts and function effectively on a 12-hour schedule
- Strong teamwork, communication and crisis-management skills
- BSN not required — solid clinical experience in L&D will shine
Education
- Nursing diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Fetal monitoring interpretation and intrapartum care
- Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization techniques
- Acute obstetric assessment and emergency response
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting and documentation
- Patient-centered education and family communication
- Prioritization and multitasking in a fast-paced L&D environment
