Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead unit operations during your shift, ensuring patient flow and staff coordination run smoothly
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff as the House Supervisor, providing clinical guidance and real-time problem solving
• Triage and prioritize patient care needs, stepping in for complex assessments when required
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges with interdisciplinary teams to maintain safe, efficient care
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in EPIC and uphold clinical standards including ACLS/BLS protocols
• Manage emergent situations calmly and effectively, escalating to leadership as needed
• Facilitate clear communication between departments, physicians, and ancillary services to optimize outcomes
• Participate in unit-level quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient care

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for practice in Utah (license to submit required)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Comfortable and experienced with EPIC electronic charting
• Experience in a supervisory or charge nurse role preferred (House Supervisor experience is a plus)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and cover every-other-weekend responsibilities
• Willingness to complete a 12-hour orientation prior to starting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma accepted; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong acute care clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with EPIC charting and documentation best practices
• Leadership, delegation, and conflict-resolution skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Time management and prioritization in high-acuity, fast-paced settings
• Familiarity with ACLS protocols and emergency response workflows
