Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage hospital-wide staffing and coordinate bed assignments to ensure optimal patient flow
• Supervise and support charge nurses and frontline staff across units during your shift
• Respond to patient complaints and escalate to administration when appropriate
• Activate and coordinate cath and OR teams during off hours when required
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (RT, Pharmacy, Hospitalists, IV team) to ensure continuous care
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in Cerner and follow hospital policies
• Lead emergency team activation and crisis response as the on-shift House Supervisor
• Provide guidance and mentorship to staff while maintaining coverage for the entire hospital

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (state of California) required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• COVID-19 vaccination required per facility policy
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience with prior experience as a house supervisor or nursing administrator
• Demonstrated leadership and staffing management experience
• Comfortable providing 24/7 coverage and working every other weekend and holiday rotations

Education

• BSN preferred but not required; active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care and clinical judgment across multiple units and diagnoses
• Staff management and leadership under pressure
• Experience with bed assignments and hospital throughput strategies
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records
• Ability to coordinate emergency activations and multidisciplinary resources
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and escalation skills
• Familiarity with 24/7 hospital operations and weekend/holiday scheduling
