Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Silver Spring, MD
Shift Type: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, mobility and feeding
- Observe and report changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff promptly
- Help maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
- Document care provided accurately and timely to support continuity of care
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful communication
Qualifications
- Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working the evening shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
- Strong communication skills and teamwork mindset
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved GNA program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic resident care and personal assistance techniques
- Understanding of infection control and safe patient handling
- Charting and basic documentation practices
- Observation skills for noticing changes in condition
- Customer-service mindset when interacting with residents and families
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
