Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Silver Spring, MD
Shift Type: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (Night shift; specific days of week not specified)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, helping with ADLs (bathing, dressing, mobility)
- Assist with feeding, toileting, and positioning to ensure safety and dignity
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support activity and social engagement to improve resident quality of life
- Maintain clean, safe patient environments and follow infection-control practices
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with colleagues and families
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- CPR/AED certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfort working nights and delivering compassionate care to older adults
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a strong plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of elder care needs and safety protocols
- Proficient in basic patient care tasks and vital sign measurement
- Good communication and teamwork skills—clear, kind, and reliable
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
