Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to support resident dignity
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in condition promptly
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, always prioritizing resident safety
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation of care and shift reports
• Support infection control and facility protocols to keep residents and staff safe
• Collaborate with nurses and the care team to deliver coordinated, person-centered care
• Engage residents with empathy and respect to promote social and emotional well-being

Qualifications

• GNA certification or equivalent geriatric nursing assistant credential (preferred/required by facility)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or working with older adults is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification or state-recognized geriatric nursing assistant credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and safe resident handling techniques
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control practices and basic nursing procedures
• Good observation skills and ability to escalate concerns appropriately
• Compassionate bedside manner and effective interpersonal skills
• Basic documentation skills and comfort with electronic or paper charting
