Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to preserve dignity and comfort
• Take and record vital signs, observe residents for changes, and report findings promptly to the nursing team
• Provide compassionate bedside care and mobility assistance, promoting safety and independence
• Support feeding and meal assistance while observing dietary needs and preferences
• Document care accurately and timely in the resident record to ensure continuity of care
• Communicate effectively and kindly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or state-approved equivalent (Class: GNA)
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but new grads with strong caregiving experience are welcome
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Up-to-date immunizations as required by the facility
• Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA training program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic resident care and ADL assistance
• Skilled in safe resident transfers and mobility support
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with charting and documentation best practices
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork
• Understanding of infection control and basic safety procedures
