Location: Silver Spring, MD
Shift Type: Schedule varies by facility; 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (Night shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting — with dignity and compassion
- Provide safe transfer and mobility assistance, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Monitor residents’ condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff to support timely care
- Document care activities and observations clearly and accurately in the resident record
- Support meal service and assist residents with feeding as needed while encouraging independence
- Create a warm, respectful environment by engaging residents in conversation and providing emotional support
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a safe, clean care environment
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to contribute to individualized care plans
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required) — you bring the credential, we’ll cheer you on
- Current CPR/BLS certification (required or obtained shortly after hire)
- Experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations preferred
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by facility
- Compassionate communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including lifting and transferring residents
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification / credential required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of basic patient care and ADLs (activities of daily living)
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observing changes in condition
- Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
- Good documentation skills and attention to detail
- Teamwork mindset and the ability to follow care plans and directions from nursing staff
- Calm under pressure and skilled at de-escalation and handling sensitive situations
