Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to residents, promoting dignity and independence
• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive proper nutrition
• Help maintain a safe, clean and comfortable living environment
• Build positive relationships with residents and families through clear, kind communication
• Collaborate with the care team to follow care plans and deliver consistent, quality care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — Maryland certification preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfort working with elderly populations and assisting with activities of daily living
• Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus but caring attitude matters most

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical care skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe transfers
• Knowledge of infection control and resident safety practices
• Ability to document care accurately and follow care plans
• Compassionate bedside manner and patience with memory-care or frail residents
• Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
