Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident observations accurately and promptly
• Communicate changes in resident condition to nursing staff and document thoroughly
• Support a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered care

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• Current state-required credentials and clear background check
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfort working with older adults and ability to perform physical aspects of care
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a care team
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-preserving practices
• Skill in safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Accurate charting and documentation of resident care and observations
• Infection control practices and proper use of PPE
• Ability to identify and report subtle changes in behavior or condition
• Teamwork, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
