Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, and function
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care
- Document patient progress thoroughly and communicate changes to the care team
- Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and continued recovery
- Contribute to a positive, safe environment that promotes patient dignity and outcomes
- Participate in team meetings, treatment planning, and performance improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Physical Therapist license in Alabama or eligible to obtain licensure
- Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT preferred) from an accredited program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtain upon hire
- Previous clinical experience in outpatient, rehab, or similar settings preferred
- Strong documentation and clinical reasoning skills
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to handle a caseload and prioritize patient safety and quality
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy or related field acceptable where applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, and functional mobility interventions
- Proficient with patient assessment, goal setting, and outcome measurement
- Comfortable using electronic medical records for treatment documentation
- Knowledge of safe patient handling and infection control practices
- Ability to teach therapeutic exercises and home programs clearly and compassionately
