Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to elderly residents, supporting daily living activities with dignity
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident observations accurately and promptly
• Assist with bathing, dressing, mobility, feeding and toileting while promoting independence
• Communicate clearly with the nursing team and families to ensure coordinated care
• Follow care plans and report changes in resident condition to licensed staff
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control practices
• Support recreational and social activities to enhance resident quality of life

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Comfort working the night shift and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude toward older adults
• Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or geriatrics is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skill in resident transfers, mobility assistance and safe lifting techniques
• Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs and basic clinical observations
• Understanding of infection control, medication assistance protocols and care planning
• Ability to build rapport with residents and provide person-centered care
• Time management and teamwork to support smooth shift handoffs
