Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating with dignity
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care that preserves independence and comfort
- Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team promptly
- Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the interdisciplinary team
- Support a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety procedures
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families, offering empathy and reassurance
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (required)
- Current, active eligibility to work in Maryland (required for assignment)
- Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with strong communication skills
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic geriatric care and common needs of older adults
- Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and mobility support
- Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
- Clear written and verbal communication for accurate documentation and handoffs
- Teamwork mindset and willingness to collaborate with nurses and therapists
